Meet the Teacher | Ruth Fishman

Ruth discovered yoga as a child and has practiced many forms of it, but ‘came home’ to Kundalini in 2012. She worked in Further Education as an English, Drama and Creative Writing teacher for 37 years, and has led Kundalini Yoga and Creative Writing workshops at JOY, an area she is particularly interested in developing. The combination of Kundalini yoga and creative writing supported Ruth through bereavement and work stress and enabled her to approach the next stage of her life with greater optimism and joy.

My teaching style

Kundalini Yoga is for everyone and I try to make my classes as inclusive as possible. I want people to feel welcome and comfortable sharing this amazing practice whether they are experienced practitioners or have never done yoga before.

My current daily practice

I'm currently doing a 40-day Sat Kriya workout practice. It helps with endurance and digestion and I can really feel the support it's giving me through this difficult time.
