Healing the Wounds of Love
Meditation Workshop with the Shabad Hazaaray (Mere Man Lochai)
Tuesday 10 February | 8:00–9:15 pm
This meditation workshop invites you into the profound sound current of Mere Man Lochai, also known as Shabad Hazaaray—a prayer of deep longing for the Divine Beloved.
Written by Guru Arjan during a time of separation from his father and teacher, Guru Ram Das, these verses are love letters of the soul. They express the ache of separation, the single-pointed yearning for union, and the joy of reunion. Through their Naad (subtle sound current), they carry the power to soften the heart, dissolve the pain of separation, and restore a lived sense of connection.
The subtle Naad of Mere Man Lochai creates a dynamic magnetic field that can help release and resolve the wounds of love. As the mind settles into this vibration, feelings of isolation may ease, the negative mind can rebalance, and past hurts held in the heart may gently unwind. In the ecstasy of this state, the illusion of separation (maya) loses its grip, and a sense of union with the Infinite can be experienced.
What we’ll practice
Together we’ll chant 11 recitations of Shabad Hazaaray interweaving the mantra
Aad Sach, Jugaad Sach, Haibhay Sach, Nanak Hosee Bhai Sach
(True in the beginning, true throughout the ages; true now, says Nanak, this Truth shall ever be.)
with the four stanzas of Shabad Hazaaray—the first three expressing longing during separation, and the fourth reflecting the joy of reunion.
The session will include:
Gentle warm-ups to prepare the body
Seated chanting in Easy Pose with a straight spine and light Neck Lock
A brief deep relaxation to integrate the experience
