Kick *ss Kriya

The other day, a couple issues set me on the defensive.

First, a washroom hygiene service provider who hasn’t provided any service in more than a year made a second attempt to renew our contract for another year. The company was giving us various options of “we’ll be taking more of your money now even though we’re not doing anything to earn it.” My objections were being ignored.

Second, I uncovered a “stolen” JOY image used in a defamatory Tik Tok post about another teacher and her studio. The teacher in question may not be your cup of tea but the six-video rant seemed unnecessary. What got me was the indirect inclusion of JOY in the rant. (It wasn’t likely intended. The image in question tops google searches for Kundalini Yoga. JOY wasn't named. But the picture lives on our website.)

When I saw this fab group of yogis in this unpleasant video, I had a Mama Bear moment. I’m protective of the studio and the students and teachers in the picture. They didn’t sign up to be part of someone else’s anti-kundalini propaganda.

It was sadhana time, so I grabbed my Waves of Healing manual and flipped through.

The thought that my subconscious spit out was: “where’s the I’m-gonna-kick-your-ass kriya?”

Whoaah! What? Did my subconscious just say that?

Yes, it did.

No, I don’t want to literally go kick anyone’s ass. And I don’t want to pick figurative fights either. But I do want to protect the studio.

I jumped to a kriya for the arcline. The arcline is part of the electromagnetic field and, in yogic terms, relates to intuition and protection. A short set and a longer meditation put me on more neutral footing and ready to deal with the day and one hygiene services provider in particular.

If it surprises you that an experienced yogi and meditator can think this way, it shouldn’t. Where the meditative mind kicks in is the ability to observe your thoughts, understand where they’re coming from, explore the situation. Then you can choose to take action or stand down.

In my case today, action took the form of a firmly worded email to the contractor who is probably not a crook but just trying to make ends meet. As for that picture on Tik Tok? I’ll probably let it go. And yes, there’s a kriya for that too.
